St. Lawrence Faculty and Staff

Laure Vierra

Instructional Assistant and Extended Care Assistant Director

Biography

Mrs. Vierra (née Laure Fargher Vierra)’s love for Saint Lawrence began in the third grade when her family moved to the Saint Lawrence Parish, and she became a SLEMS Alumni in 1976. She later returned to SLEMS as a parent of two students (now alumni) as well!

She began her professional journey at Saint Lawrence in the Kindergarten classroom, where she experienced thirteen years of joy with her students as they learned to read and write. Her next stop was second grade, where she witnessed the Holy Spirit working in the lives of her students as they received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist. She then moved on to the fourth and fifth grades to mentor the student reading programs. Her final stop was in the Middle School, where she provided her students with ELA support. For over twenty years, Mrs. Vierra has also served as the Co-Director of the Summer Camp Program.

Throughout these twenty-four years, she has experienced the love of students, the support and friendships of countless families, and the strong bond of friendship and team spirit from pastors, priests, faculty, and staff members. She will take a piece of each of them with her in her heart as she retires this year from the school and community she loves so dearly.

In her free time, she enjoys spending as much time as she can with her family, whom she adores. They love to ride bikes together, go camping, or simply hang out at the beach. She also loves to read and hopes that her students will also find the joy of reading in their lives.
