Annika McKinley

Middle School Math Teacher

Biography

Annika is originally from San Jose and grew up in the Diocese of San Jose attending Holy Family School as well as Archbishop Mitty High School.

She continued her Catholic education at the University of San Diego where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with Minors in Mathematics and Philosophy. She started working at St. Lawrence in 2022 as the Middle School Math Teacher. Annika is currently attending Santa Clara University in the Excellence in Catholic Education and Leadership (ExCEL) Program, where she expects to earn her Masters in Education and Teaching Credential in June of 2025.

At St. Lawrence, Annika is a part of the Middle School Team as the Math Teacher as well at 5th & 6th Grade Homeroom. She believes in the importance of nurturing a safe and joyful classroom community in order to teach the students the importance of collaboration and relationship. Her work and classroom presence follows these beliefs as she continues to build strong relationships with all of her students. 

In her free time, Annika enjoys needle work ranging from embroidery to crocheting. She loves to pick up new hobbies and teach herself new skills as a life-long learner.
