Extracurricular Activities

  • At St. Lawrence, we have a vibrant choir program, where we empower students to express themselves through music. Our rehearsals are held every Wednesday morning before school, offering a dedicated time for students to develop their vocal talents and forge connections with their peers.

Open to students in grades 3 to 8, our choir program fosters a sense of belonging and commitment. Students have the opportunity to sing the psalm in pairs for mass and run the slideshow, both of which provide leadership opportunities and foster self-confidence.

Throughout the year, our choir students serve an integral role in our weekly Wednesday masses and make meaningful contributions to various local events, showcasing their talents and spreading joy through voice. In addition, our choir students represent our school with pride and distinction at the St. Lawrence Christmas concert, Spring Arts Showcase, and the Diocesan Choral Festival, enriching both our school and the wider Bay Area community.

Participation in our choir program requires a $50 fee per student, which helps sustain our musical endeavors and ensures access to resources that enrich the choir experience.

Our choir students not only discover their voices, cultivate friendships, but also contribute to our school and community through the power of music.

  • At St. Lawrence, our Robotics Club is a dynamic community of students from grades 4 to 8, who participate in the First LEGO League Robotics competitions. Within this program, students not only grasp the fundamentals of STEM but also put their skills to the test.

Through robotics, our students cultivate habits of learning, confidence, and bolster essential teamwork skills. Through hands-on experience and collaboration, they gain not only technical proficiency but also develop crucial life skills. The Robotics Club allows students to embrace challenges, overcome obstacles, and forge ahead with creativity and innovation.

  • At St. Lawrence, our STEM Club is where innovation meets exploration. The STEM Club is divided into three age groups, ensuring that students from TK/K to grades 1-3 have the opportunity to explore more science and technology topics after school.

For grades 4-8, the excitement ramps up with participation in the Tech Challenge, an exciting program presented by Amazon and hosted at the Tech Interactive in downtown San Jose, CA.

This 2023-2024, we’re excited to have three St. Lawrence teams in the challenge. This year, students are going on an intergalactic adventure. Our students have been tasked with the crucial mission of delivering vital supplies to various locations on a distant moon. It’s no ordinary delivery job, that’s for sure!

Throughout the challenge, our students will collaborate, innovate, and immerse themselves in the challenge, while documenting their progress and design. In April, students will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions in front of a panel of judges.

The STEM Club fuels students’ passion for creativity, innovation, and exploration. This is where our students discover the boundless possibilities of scientific discovery.
